Developer Misty Whale has announced a release date for the upcoming logic-puzzler Orbyss, and it’s coming this month.
Orbyss will hit PC on October 27th, so fans who played the demo won’t have long to wait to get their hands on the final, full version of the game.
The solo developer (Yannick Audéoud) says the game has more than 40 “handcrafted rooms”, and will involve things like time-freezing, musical logic, and 3D drone navigation. You can see some of it in action, via the newly release gameplay trailer, below.
‘’I wanted to create puzzles with strict rules and an almost mathematical aspect. The universe was built around this idea with balance in mind: blending strict geometry with bioluminescent life forms and sound-based gameplay mechanics.’’ said solo Game Creator Yannick Audéoud. ‘’Pure logic contrasts with the almost organic living creatures and mysterious shadows taking over the world.’’
Orbyss is a visually mesmerizing, logic-based puzzle game where players switch between glowing Orbs to activate mechanisms, manipulate time, fly drones, and even solve puzzles through sound. The world is full of light and shadow, and it’s up to the player to restore harmony in the face of an encroaching corruption.
The atmospheric original soundtrack of Orbyss was composed by Pierre Estève (Atlantis series), who crafted an ambient, minimalist score using vintage synthesizers, rare instruments, and even custom-built machines. The result is a meditative, non-intrusive soundscape that supports the puzzles without overwhelming them to accompany players for hours without fatigue.
Here’s the key features:
- Co-op Mechanics in a single player game – Be in multiple places at once. Switch between Orbs to solve multi-step logic puzzles that require planning, foresight, and spatial awareness.
- Freeze, Fly, and Feel the Logic Flow – Use an expanding toolkit of mechanics across eight chapters. Each new element builds on what came before, leading to elegant, layered puzzles.
- A Digital World Bathed in Light and Shadow – Explore a dreamlike digital universe full of geometric architecture, bioluminescent lifeforms, and mysterious forces trying to unravel your progress.
- Precision Over Speed, Thought Over Reflex – Every puzzle can be solved through logic alone. There’s no twitch timing, no obscure tricks — just clean, satisfying design that rewards smart thinking.
Orbyss is coming to PC via Steam on October 27th, there’s a demo out now.
