Feeble Minds, a new studio by ex-Coffee Stain Studio founders behind Satisfactory and Goat Simulator series, have revealed their debut game, Serpent’s Gaze.
Serpent’s Gaze blends the tactical combat and epic bosses of a souls-like with the power creeping build-creation of roguelikes. A demo for the game is available now on Steam. Here’s what they had to say about the game:
Serpent’s Gaze features handcrafted levels, with no procedural generation, and can be enjoyed in up to four-player co-op, though the game can also be played in single-player. Every run is unique thanks to a “Curse” system that applies stacking difficulty modifiers to your runs, from invading enemies, to minibosses that will hunt you down.
You play as a scion – given life by the withering tree god Magnolia, with the sole purpose of vanquishing the opposing gods and usurpers who currently rule the lands. There is only one path towards that goal – violence. But you choose how to tread that path, and along the way you’ll learn more about the secrets of the desert and the truth behind your patron in a story that subtly unfolds as you play.
CEO Jannik Reuterberg said:
“We’re really excited to officially unveil our studio to the world, give you a first look at our new game, Serpent’s Gaze, and let you try it out right away with our demo. At Feeble Minds, we have a mix of experienced people who worked on some big titles at places like Coffee Stain and Paradox, alongside fresh new talent. In that image, we are working hard to create a rich world that combines the best elements of games we love with new ideas to create something new and amazing. We can’t wait to hear your feedback on the demo and share more as we continue to work on the game!”
