Small, responsive, and with a clacky symphony on every key press. Like all things computer related I let my competitive gaming side take over when it comes to looking at keyboards and peripherals in general. As a massive fan of 65% or less sized keyboards the QPAD Flux 65 was a complete must-try for me.
Simply put, this is a really nice keyboard. Fast key actuation, fantastically small as it’s a 65% keyboard, and it travels well too. With Gateron magnetic switches it sounds like a dream and feels like one too. With just the right kind of “thock” to the spacebar and just that good good mechanical keyboard sound as we all love.
With a sleek black finish and five different RGB settings built in each with a different feature (my favourite being keys lighting up on a press) it looks fantastic, the kind of “simple” that pleases those who don’t want an over-the-top flashy piece of equipment.

It has USB to USB-c connectivity as is standard. With an 8k polling rate too, it is as reactive as it gets and it feels it. Combined with the dual-rail switches every key press is snappy and instant. The QPAD FLUX 65 MODEL 5 keyboard also has a weighted silicone dampener which reduces keystroke noise allowing more focus into your gaming experience. Frankly, it’s an absolute monster when it comes to needing speed and precision for your keyboard inputs.
It weighs 720g which is a nice weight for a keyboard falling right between the high and low averages. The switches are actually adjustable for actuation per key which is nice, but I enjoy the feel out of the box. The keycaps are double PBT which means no rubbing out of keys which is nice.
Some might find the lack of F keys a concern, but they’re still there just under the normal number keys while holding the “Fn” key, which usually might be an issue, but clipping and screenshots quickly haven’t been an issue for me with how fast the keyboard itself is.

It comes in two colours, black and white. I am more of a fan of the black colouring as I think the backlights really shine with it, in comparison to the white. In addition, dirt and the like just hides better on the colour black.
The QPAD FLUX 65 MODEL 5 keyboard comes in at around £120 on Currys (UK) which I think is a totally reasonable price for a product that is better than quite a number of its competitors and that I really have nothing negative to say about it. Especially considering that a fair few keyboards of the same kind retail above this model. It comes with a 2-in-1 Switch / Keycap puller in the box which is useful for taking keycaps off for cleaning and more.
