Publisher Microids and developer Microids Studio Lyon have announce the release date for Agatha Christie – Death on the Nil on PC and consoles.
The “modern adaptation of the Queen of Crime’s classic novel” is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and Nintendo Switch on September 25th this year. Microids says it “introduces a fresh narrative twist with two playable protagonists: the legendary Hercule Poirot and a brand-new character created for the game, detective Jane Royce.”
“Players will alternate between the two characters, each offering a unique perspective on the unfolding investigation”, says the Publisher, adding: “Poirot’s razor-sharp logic combined with Royce’s intuition brings depth to the gameplay, as players cross-reference testimonies, interrogate suspects, and piece together every clue to uncover the truth.”
The team says it will remain true to the spirit of the original novel, but says it “presents a contemporary reimagining of the iconic story. Following in the footsteps of Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express, the team at Microids Studio Lyon has crafted a one-of-a-kind adventure full of new surprises – even die-hard Christie fans won’t see them coming.”
There’s going to be a UK-only limited edition of the game, too, containing the following:
- The full Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile game
- A 48-page artbook: “The Art of Death on the Nile”
- A stylish bookmark
- The game’s original soundtrack (digital format)

In Death on the Nile, a peaceful cruise turns into a nightmare when a murder shatters the tranquility of the voyage. Fortunately, renowned detective Hercule Poirot is on board. At the same time, a parallel investigation led by private detective Jane Royce takes players from London to Mallorca, New York, and finally to Egypt. The two storylines converge in Abu Simbel, where this dynamic investigative duo must solve a tangled case full of twists and intrigue.
