Yogscast Games confirms Dicealot release date

Will you get farkled?
Dicealot

Developer of lots of unique and fun games Yogscast Games has announced the release date for the next title in the line-up: Dicealot.

The new roguelike dice builder will be coming to PC on October 9th via Steam (that’s a Thursday, for those keeping count), and a new trailer has been dropped to celebrate this news.

On top of that, you can try a demo of the game now, which will show off the tense dice-rolling experience you’ll get to experience when the full game hits in early October.

“Dicealot has a unique ability to get its hooks into you and tempt you into one more game,” said Simon Byron, Managing Director, Yogscast Games. “Its simple pick-up and play mechanics draw you in. A few battles later, you’ll be up all night devising new strategies, combining new Quest Dice and Vassals as you get Farkled over and over again.”

Here’s the official description for Dicealot:

Dicealot combines basic Farkle mechanics and applies a modern-day twist, creating tension and anticipation through every roll. The game’s tactical depth emerges through its dice-building system, where players craft powerful combinations and develop strategies to stack the odds in their favour. Every roll brings risk, but the rewards for a full hand can deliver big scores and huge damage to the opposition. Gaining a full hand results in the option to rollover, but as the points continue to build, so must the player’s nerve if they’re to score big and win.

Between bouts, players can help build their strategy by visiting one of several merchants and arm themselves with Quest and Power Dice, Vassals, or boost their health and gold reserves. With only one opportunity to power up before facing the next medieval menace, players face the tough choice of deciding whether to opt for more power, increase score multipliers, or uncover a new winning dice combination or additional rerolls. With Dicealot, half of the battle is figuring out the perfect strategy for each of the seven quests and boss encounters.

Dicealot’s medieval setting provides the perfect backdrop for its high-stakes gameplay, featuring retro-inspired visuals and a cast of eccentric characters that bring warmth and humour even when they introduce a second die or take advantage of yet another Farkle. The game’s light-hearted encounters, which are more Monty Python than Gladiator, are enhanced by satisfying visual flourishes and audio cues. Whether players are facing a peculiar knight or outwitting a jolly green giant, every encounter brings unique challenges and epic rewards.

Frankly, any game using the term “Farkled” gets my vote, so I’ll be keeping an eye on this one as we get closer to launch.

Dicealot is coming to PC via Steam on October 9th.
