As much as I don’t mind these kinds of games, there’s nothing worse than feeling awful when you don’t score as well as a friend, regardless of how good you actually are. Realize Music: Sing isn’t a game. It’s a tool to make you feel good through the power of music, and it absolutely gets it right.
While it is rooted in karaoke, you aren’t competing against anyone. There are no scores or challenges to beat. You aren’t up against anyone. What Realize Music: Sing does is give you a large catalogue of songs to sing along with in your own safe space. Why not just sing along to your playlist on Spotify? What’s the difference between this and singing in the shower? Being immersed in a virtual reality space focuses you into your own comfortable place away from the worries of the world.
There are tons of artists to choose from covering a range of different genres. Once you’ve found a song from the easily accessible catalogue, you are then brought into your own virtual world where the words appear on screen. There are different environments to set as the backdrop, giving you control over what your own space looks like. Not only can you alter what you’re looking at, there are other aspects that can feature into your own personal karaoke experience.
You can paint colours with your controller or play drums along to the track. There’s no penalty for making mistakes and no restrictions to how you do it. There are also classic songs from groups like Abba. Whatever the song, it’s available to be enjoyed in a multitude of ways.
The library does feature a lot of music at present. As time goes on, new tracks are set to be added as well. There are songs for everyone and it’s great to see. That experience of singing on your own in a relaxing environment is underrated. It’s a fantastic idea that’s executed very well. Life goes by too fast and things happen that can’t be controlled. This is an app that helps reduce stress and does so wonderfully. It might not be for everyone, but the core idea works well.
It may be in its early stages, but Realize Music: Sing is wonderful. Vibrant visuals, plenty of songs, and no pressure. It’s a great place to relax while immersing yourself in a wide range of songs. Sing along or find different ways to enjoy music, the choice is yours. It may not be for everyone, but if singing along to your favourite songs while letting go of stress from the outside world is your thing, this is certainly one you should give in to.
