Simulation specialists Dovetail have unveiled their annual Festival of Rail, celebrating 17 years of all things Dovetail train simulation between 5th – 11th February. From Train Sim World 6, to Metro Rivals: New York and Train Simulator Classic, there’s an update and a surprise for every train simulation fan.
A Festival of Remasters
The familiar now looks, feels, and sounds a whole lot different:
- Great Western Express (GWE) Remaster: Launching on February 6th, experience a remaster of the Great Western Express Route Add On seen across the previous Train Sim World franchise! Introducing 2 brand new stations with full Underground branding (Royal Oak Station, Westbourne Park), new London Underground platforms at Ealing Broadway, and a whole host of upgrades and features to fit the Train Sim World 6 standard, expect rail singing and more in this remaster of an old favourite!
- Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen (SKA) Remaster: Coming soon to consoles and PC, the second part of this Remaster sees visual upgrades across the entire route, following a comprehensive timetable update launched last year.
- East Coastway (ECW) Remaster: Also coming soon, the East Coastway Remaster will be launching, bringing this fan favourite back with new Train Sim World 6 features, a complete visual experience overhaul, a timetable update and more.
A New Route in a New Country for Train Simulator Classic
Explore Amsterdam for the first time in Train Simulator Classic, where you can drive the new Hoofddorp – Hilversum line. This new route adds the first ever Dutch route for Train Simulator Classic, coming this Spring. More details can be expected on February 9.
Behind the Scenes with the Developers on Metro Rivals: New York
For the upcoming genre-defying subway simcade Metro Rivals: New York, Dovetail will be unveiling the first Development Blog update, walking you through the progress on the game so far. Keep an eye on the Steam page for all new gameplay screenshots.
The Train Sim World Roadmap – February
On February 10, you can expect a roadmap of everything upcoming for Train Sim World 6. Revealing all the content up ahead, from Add-Ons to improvements and updates, there’s much to be revealed for Train Sim World 6 in 2026.
Various discounts are available throughout the Festival of Rail too, which runs until February 11.
