Coffee Stain Publishing and developer Box Dragon has announced that deckbuilder As We Descend will hit early access on May 28th.
As the publisher says, this is the newest property from some of the team behind Valheim and Deep Rock Galactic (publisher, that is, not developer), with a description of: “Set in a grim future where resources are scarce and monsters threaten humanity’s very existence, in As We Descend players will defend the last safe civilisation against the tides of decay.”
“We had originally planned to launch As We Descend today, but ultimately we decided that it needed a little more time in the oven to become the genre-shattering game we want to deliver to our players,” said Kevin Chang, Game Director at Box Dragon. “To that end, today we’re thrilled to announce the new launch date, alongside the demo localisations into 12 new languages, allowing more players to experience As We Descend in their own language. Now is the perfect time to try the game out if you haven’t already – we’ve got big plans, and the Early Access launch will be just the beginning!”
Recruit expedition forces, navigate feudal politics, enlist allies across the city, and outsmart incomprehensible foes. Gameplay varies from card-based, turn-based strategy; to relationship building with key figures in a desperate city that evolves and crumbles in unique ways based on the player’s decisions.
On top of this news, developer Box Dragon has confirmed there’s an update been pushed to the Steam demo, which localises the demo into 11 new languages: French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Ukrainian. As you can imagine, these languages (as well as English) will be there in the game when it hits early access.
As We Descent will launch into early access on PC via Steam on May 28th.
