poncle is launching Vampire Survivors update 1.14 on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Mobile today, with Nintendo Switch and Epic Games Store versions arriving on 31st October. Included in this update is a free Balatro crossover DLC among other goodies.
So, what’s included?
Online Co-op
Following a successful public beta in August, poncle has launched online co-op for Vampire Survivors. Now you can play your favourite bullet hell survival game with a pal!
There are no distance limits so you’re free to roam without being tethered to your partners, and up to four players can play together in one session, just like couch co-op.
Ante Chamber
Vampire Survivors is no stranger to a crossover, and this time they’re combining their mega popular game with the equally mega popular Balatro.
The house is full. The deck is rigged. And Luck is just another statistic. But fortune favours the bold, and if you can survive this clown car of poker puns, you can be the bullet hell even when the chips are down. In this DLC you’ll find…
4 New Characters:
- Jimbo: Your favorite forklift-certified clown finally has full-body representation in Vampire Survivors.
- Canio: The tragic clown in oversized finery. Has a special technique to trigger additional Survarot drafts, but won’t stop frowning about it.
- Chicot: Wears the cap and bells, but makes bosses look like the real clowns by cutting their health in half and switching off their hazards.
- Perkeo: Short in stature but never short on Passives, this fool has a practically unlimited pool to power him up.
4 New Weapons & Evolutions:
- Infernolatro: Summon a burning score counter to burn your foolish foes to ashes. Each enemy you roast stacks your score and fans the flames, expanding the inferno until the whole table’s alight.
- Gros Michel: Release a barrage of banana projectiles, each with a 1-in-6 chance to explode for deliciously critical damage.
- Fibonacci Seltzer: Fires mathematically beautiful spiralling streams of fizzy destruction that can trigger your other weapons.
- Celestial Booster: Planets and a rocket orbit you constantly, dealing extra damage based on your current riches.
New stage: The Ante Chamber
Enter the Ante Chamber, an extradimensional analogue of Balatro’s user interface. Battle buffoonish foes on a facsimile of Jimbo’s home turf accompanied by a new ally, the Outer Saboteur, a silly little sidekick that steals your coins to throw them at enemies.
What are Survarots?
Survarots are a new form of power creep that is currently being tested through Secretino in the Vampire Survivors base game, but all Ante Chamber characters can use them. They are vaguely similar to Arcana cards, but are themed after characters from Vampire Survivors and provide different types of bonuses. The Ante Chamber has a preview of this feature which will eventually make its way to the base game.
Ode to Castlevania Update
You may recall that KONAMI and poncle joined forces way back in 2024 to release their Castlevania collaboration, appropriately called the Ode to Castlevania expansion. They’re back at it again, updating the collab with even more classic Castlevania characters and more:
- 16 new characters, each more obscure than the last
- A brand new adventure, the biggest poncle’s ever made
- 16 between new weapons and weapon unions
- 12 new music tracks composed by Ode to Castlevania’s original composers
The Ode to Castlevania update is free for players who have already purchased the Ode to Castlevania DLC. The expansion is available for $3.99 / €3.99 / £2.99.
