Alt Shift and Dotemu released a new gameplay overview trailer for Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes.
In today’s briefing you’ll be taken through the basics of Fleet Management and Combat, which you’ll need to master to survive Cylon attacks and rejoin the Galactica.
Fleet Management
During the first of the two alternating phases found in Battlestar Galactic: Scattered Hopes, you’ll manage resources, upgrade your Gunstar and Squadrons, train your crew and explore points of interest. Your fleet will be faced with tough choices and you’ll be in the commanders seat to make them.
You’ll need to keep an eye on the countdown until the next Cylon attack, with each action costing turns so you’ll need to strategise and plan your time as effectively as possible to get the most from this phase.
Combat
Combat takes place in real time with tactical pauses and has you defending your fleet from Cylon attack. Encounters are deadly, so don’t expect to get away unscathed, and you’ll have to deal with any damage taken in the next Fleet Management phase. I could try to muddle my way through explaining the intricacies of combat and fleet management but you’re better off just watching the video:
