Farm and fight together.
Mirthwood

Bad Ridge Games and V Publishing have announced that Mirthwood, a medieval life sim RPG, is receiving a brand new Co-op update on July 10th. Players are given the opportunity to roam the Freelands of Mirthwood alongside each other through the update’s introduction of Steam Remote Play support and local co–op as revealed during ClemmyGames’ Best Indie Games Summer Showcase 2025.

The breathtaking beauty of Mirthwood can now be explored to your heart’s content with a partner by your side. This new Co-op update allows for local multiplayer, featuring a camera system that adapts and changes as players explore the map. Whether it’s battling, planting or starting a family, it’s all now a two-person task.

The additional second player can now get creative with farming, crafting and combat, all while both of you maintain your own inventories and items, even if you decide to switch to single-player once more. Getting married and having children with a partner has even been made possible in this new update and the children even inherit traits from both yours and your co-op partner’s character.

Some combat improvements have also been added, such as a lock-on target system, an attack indicator and upgraded performance to guarantee a more polished and smoother experience. Having released late in 2024, Mirthwood was plagued by a few issues at launch, which the team has been working diligently to iron out. Updates like this are proof of their dedication to delivering a premium experience.

Overall, this new update has implemented a wide variety of key features to make the already incredible Mirthwood even greater such as a new “downed” state, meaning that your co-op partner can give you a little health pick-me-up when you need it, additional farm structures, items and some minor optimisation improvements.

Mirthwood’s Steam Remote Play Co-op update will be yours on July 10th, with an online Co-op planned for a future update.
