CD Projekt RED’s fantastic Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to another format this week, with a Mac version for Apple Silicon on Thursday, July 17th.
It’ll be the Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077, as you’d imagine, so will include the DLC, and it’ll be available via the Mac App Store, Epic Games Store, and of course, Steam. This marks the first time it’ll be available on Mac, but again, just to remind you that you’ll need a Silicon Chip Mac to play it. Specifically: “Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is supported on Apple silicon Mac configurations with 16GB or more of unified memory, running on macOS 15.5 or later for the best experience.”
The team says: it takes “full advantage of Apple silicon and the advanced technologies of Metal, the game delivers smooth performance, sharp visuals, amazing battery life, and seamless gameplay.”
There’s actually a new feature with this version, as it supports Spatial Audio on Mac. That means if you have AirPods it’s got Head Tracked Spatial Audio by default.
Players can fully immerse themselves in the dark future with advanced features such as path tracing, frame generation, support for HDR tuning for Apple XDR displays, and built-in Spatial Audio with head-tracking exclusive to Apple AirPods. Players using everything from the recently released Macs with M4 and M3 family of chips — including the new iMac, MacBook Air, Mac mini, MacBook Pro, and Mac Studio with M3 Ultra to M1 models with 16GB or more of unified memory — can expect an experience optimized to their hardware and finely tuned to bring out the full capabilities of the Mac.
This news comes just after CDPR revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be part of the PlayStation Plus line-up for July, and not long after the Nintendo Switch 2 version has been released. It’s easier than ever to play the game now, as we’d also assume the Mac version will have the same cross save functionality that the other versions of the game have.
