Train Sim World 6 is launching its first route DLC: West Coast Main Line: Birmingham – Crewe, Dovetail Games has announced.
Players will explore a new stretch of one of Britain’s arterial railway lines, through the industrial Black Country and the bustling urban centres of Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Crewe.
It’s packed with plenty of realistic details too, including 100 uniquely modelled railway bridges, all depicting suburban locations such as Smethwick, Dudley and Tipton. A real-world mural at Smethwick Rolfe Street has been added, which was designed by students at Sandwell College.
The timetable features services from a broad range of Train Sim World content, including the CrossCountry Voyager from Train Sim World 6: Deluxe Edition and Avanti West Coast Pendolino. Players can take advantage of these services using existing Add-ons from their collection.
There is a packed post-launch roadmap, incuding add-ons from numerous developers, with new trains, new gameplay and new routes. Three new countries are soon to be represented: Portugal, Czechia and Japan, all coming in future route add-ons, as well as brand-new British, German and USA content.
In my Train Sim World 6 review I praised its gorgeous visuals and relaxing gameplay. It’s an excellent example of the simulator genre done right, and with a free starter pack available now, it’s worth trying out if you’re even mildly curious.
Train Sim World 6 is available now on PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
