Game Freak has revealed a first look at new title under a newly announced publisher (Frictions) called Beast of Reincarnation, and it looks pretty incredible.
If the developer name seems familiar, that’s because Game Freak has been synonymous with making the Pokemon game series for Nintendo for decades, while occasionally branching out into other games like Tembo the Badass Elephant.
This new game was originally teased under the pseudonym “Project Bloom”, and now we have more information on it: “Directed by Kota Furushima, Beast of Reincarnation is set to release in 2026 and will be available day one with Xbox Game Pass (Series X|S, Windows). It will also be available at launch on PC via Steam and PlayStation 5”, explains publisher Fictions.
The team says: “The new trailer offers a breathtaking look at the game’s atmospheric world, inviting players to journey through post-apocalyptic Japan. Step into the role of Emma the Sealer, along with her canine companion Koo, as they confront the source of the world’s corruption to save humanity from extinction.
Beast of Reincarnation marks another exciting title under Fictions, a new game publisher founded by a collection of game developers and craft experts who support and champion games as well as the creative minds behind them.”
In post-apocalyptic Japan, a land ruined by corruption and crawling with monstrous beasts, humanity’s last hope may rest with Emma—an outcast cursed as a Blighted One—and Koo, her loyal canine companion.
Survive a journey across an ominous, ever-changing world where dangerous forests can erupt in the wasteland. As Emma and Koo push deeper into the unknown, their bond strengthens—and with it, strange powers bloom.
Explore what it means to be human in Beast of Reincarnation, an expansive one-person, one-dog action RPG built around demanding, technical combat.
What awaits at journey’s end?
“It’s incredible to be working with Game Director Furushima-san and the renowned development team at Game Freak. We greatly value their continued collaboration and trust,” said Mika Kurasawa, Executive Producer, Fictions. “We are so excited to show players a glimpse into the stunning world and intense combat of Beast of Reincarnation.”
The publisher is also behind another newly announced game, LEGO Party!, which is coming to all consoles and PC.
Beast of Reincarnation is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC in 2026.
