Rogue Factor and publisher Nacon have dropped a gameplay trailer for upcoming third person action adventure game, Hell Is Us, available on Steam until June 16.
Set in alternate version of the 1990s, Hell Is Us takes place in a fictional European country called Hadea, where your protagonist Remi struggles to survive while trying to uncover his own mysterious origins. Although marketing seems keen to avoid the term “Soulslike”, Hell Is Us very much is, introducing a concept called “Player Pattering”, which is basically doing what From Software did in the Souls trilogy and Bloodborne, removing things like maps and objective guidelines and forcing the player to use landmarks and instinct to navigate the world.
Armed with a variety of weapons and abilities, you must guide Remi through numerous deadly encounters with Hollow-walkers, among other twisted abominations. The demo allows you to play the entire first chapter of the game, which should be more than enough to get a feel for what to expect and know if you’re going to pick up the whole game when it launches. You can check out the trailer for the demo below:
September 2025 is already getting pretty heavy with releases, but Hell Is Us looks like a genuine contender. The aesthetics of the world and the creature design have a distinctly horror-like atmosphere, and we’re expecting a steep and relentless challenge. It’s hard to say how different it’s going to be to other games in the genre, but it looks stunning and the combat looks like it will be incredibly moreish for fans of tough action-adventure games.
Hell Is Us is developed by Rogue Factor and published by Nacon, and is due to release on PS5, Xbox Series S & X, and PC on September 4 2025. You can find more information on the official site here.
