Publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games have together confirmed the release date for highly anticipated brawler MARVEL Cosmic Invasion.
As we are getting closer to the end of the year, it’s fair to say people might have been getting concerned for the “2025” release date, but it’s now official: MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch on December 1st.
A new trailer has also unveiled Phoenix and Invincible Iron Man will be in the game. The publisher says: “Bring the pain right to Annihilus’ doorstep with the X-Man formerly known as Marvel Girl as she uses her massive telekinetic powers to crush the insectoid invaders. Or tag Phoenix out to slip into the steel, er, iron-toed boots of Tony Stark as Invincible Iron Man, beating back Annihilus’ baneful bugs with your mighty repulsor blasts or by powering up the iconic Iron Cannon.”
Hopes are high for MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, given the pedigree behind the game. Dotemu are long known for being behind stellar games in the 2D side-scrolling beat-em-up genre, having just developer the excellent Absolum. Likewise, developer Tribute Games is the team behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, and Scott Pilgrim EX, so fingers crossed the team’s have cooked something special up here.
Indeed, we had a chance to play it recently, and loved it. Chris said: “Marvel Cosmic Invasion is already incredible. The gameplay is superb and feels even deeper than Shredder’s Revenge. Although I got to play as some of the more obvious heroes, trying at Nova and Phyla-Vell showed be that the developers knows exactly what it’s doing with this. It’s so colourful, and knowing I’m going to be able to go to places like the Negative Zone makes me happy. It feels like it’s made with love, as well as a deep respect for the history of Marvel, and I cannot wait to play through the entire game upon release.”
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and Switch on December 1st.
