Developer Manticore Games has announced that its multiplayer roguelike title, Out of Time, is out now via the Epic Games Store on PC.
Sometimes a picture speaks a thousand words, so the new official launch trailer is embedded for your pleasure below, and it shows off how colourful and fun Out of Time looks.
We’ve got a review of this one coming up soon, so keep an eye out for that, obviously.
“Out of Time has come from a place of passion from our team, taking the best parts of different genres such as MMOs, roguelikes, co-op games and action RPGs, to create a wholly original experience for players,” said Jordan Maynard, Chief Creative Officer of Manticore Games. “What I love about Out of Time is its infinite replayability. Even as someone who has been playing this game for the last two years I am still discovering new ways to play every day – new encounters, new gear and squad combinations.”
In Out of Time, an event known as “The Shattering” has fused all eras into Inifnitopia, the last bastion of humanity. From there, survivors can choose from up to 190 million different gear combinations, venturing out into different regions, and going on raids to untangle the corruption zone by zone. Expect the unexpected in these adventures, from medieval wizards battling it out with a cyborg in the Wastelands, to a medic and a shapeshifter taking down a mutated crab monster in the modern times.
Players can take on the tangle solo, or play online with up to four players. Grouping up will unlock the game’s unique tethering system; empowering your squad by sharing a powerful force multiplier that will be needed especially when attempting runs across different difficulty settings from Normal to Hard to Shattering.
“We have built Out of Time as an infinitely expandable universe with more eras, new modes and leaderboards added regularly. We will also bring the game to more players on new platforms soon.” said Frederic Descamps, CEO of Manticore Games. “To achieve this level of speed and flexibility, Out of Time has been built in Core, our UGC gaming platform, and Unreal Engine 5.”
