Despite the Nintendo Switch 2 not officially being up for pre-order yet, some UK retailers are already telling customers they’re not in the first wave of shipments.
In an email to some customers, UK retailer ShopTo.net has let some people know they won’t be getting a Switch 2 as soon as they’d hoped. The retailer has also updated its catalog to say “Sold Out”.

We have received news on stock allocation from Nintendo, however, unfortunately, your order will not be in the first batch of shipments.
Your reservation will now be moved to the Back Orders section of your ShopTo account to await further allocation from Nintendo. Please note, priority shipment in the next batches of stock will be given to paid Back Orders. As a reminder, a Back Order is considered confirmed when paid in full.
Nintendo have not provided an ETA for additional stock; however, rest assured, your spot in the queue will remain well-secured in the meantime. We will not be making any new sales on this item until all our existing Back Orders have been fulfilled.

PLEASE NOTE: Our customer service team do not have access to any information on the Nintendo Switch 2 allocation or order queue – updates on the matter will be solely via email. The retailer was taking reserved interest for a 1p up-front cost, but it appears a lot more folks have been allowed to register interest than the shop is able to actually supply.
Amazon itself is doing a “register interest” instead of order button, and Nintendo Direct is offering pre-orders from April 8th to select customers, saying: “To reward the most dedicated Nintendo Switch players in Europe and the UK, the opportunity to pre-order a Nintendo Switch 2 console from My Nintendo Store will initially be offered on an invite-only basis to selected Nintendo Switch Online members.”
Elsewhere, Argos has also “sold” out of the console and the console + Mario Kart World bundle, with a message simply saying:
Oh no! We’ve sold out
Sorry, there is no more available to pre-order right now.
