Amazon has announced three games that are coming as part of the Prime Gaming subscription, and there’s a few classics included for August.
With the official word coming from the Prime Gaming blog, the team confirms: “This August, Prime members can claim a fresh line-up of free games, including Sid Meier’s Civilization III Complete, THIEF: Definitive Edition, FATE: The Traitor Soul, Filthy Animals | Heist Simulator, City Legends: The Ghost of Misty Hill Collector’s Edition, The Academy: The First Riddle, Tin Hearts, Necroking, Labyrinth City: Pierre the Maze Detective, Silver Box Classics, Heroes of Loot 2 and Fantasy Empires.”
In case you weren’t aware Prime Gaming is included if you have an Amazon Prime account (which, let’s face it, most of us do for next-day delivery, or same-day if you’re in one of the fancy towns that allows that), and if you’re someone who plays games on PC you should try to remember to grab your freebies. There are also often drops like EA Sports FC packs for Ultimate Team as well.
What you may not be quite as familiar with is Amazon Luna, a subscription service that lets you play games via the cloud. Amazon says:
With Amazon Luna, you can play your favorite games instantly — no PC or gaming console required. Luna is Amazon’s cloud gaming service that works on the devices you already own, including Fire TV. As a Prime Gaming member, you get unlimited access to a rotating selection of popular games — included with your Prime membership. Prime Gaming’s current lineup of games you can play on Luna includes Saints Row: The Third, Smurfs Kart, The Smurfs — Mission Vileaf, Garfield Lasagna Party, SkateBIRD, Monster Truck Championship — Rebel Hunter Edition, Overcooked! 2, El Hijo, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, Monster Harvest, Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure, Dungeons of Hinterberg, Windjammers 2 and THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’97 GLOBAL MATCH. In addition to the rotating selection of games, Prime members can also play Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition, Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite OG, LEGO Fortnite Brick Life, LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, Fortnite Battle Royale, Fortnite Festival, Rocket Racing and Trackmania Starter Access.
Codes for the Prime Gaming titles are usually GOG, Steam, or Epic Games Store, so bare that in mind especially if you play PC games on your handheld device, like a Steam Deck.
