Stario: Haven Tower early access date revealed

City-building, but with a twist.
Stario: Haven Tower

Developer Stargate Games has announced the early access release date for city-building game Stario: Haven Tower, and it’s coming on September 25th.

Stario: Haven Tower will be released with a 10% discount on Steam for the first two weeks (launch price will be $12.59, down from the normal $13.99), and the team says it “reimagines the city-building genre by focusing all the complexity and wonder of urban management into a single, ever-rising tower. Players must expand upward through shifting skies and hostile conditions, balancing survival, growth, and the hopes of their Towertizens.”

Here’s the details, directly from the press release:

Stario: Haven Tower takes place after a cataclysm that nearly destroyed human civilisation. According to prophecy, the last survivors, the “Towertizens,” must build a colossal tower that reaches into the heavens to restore humanity’s glory. As players guide their people floor by floor, the tower will face relentless natural disasters. Simultaneously, Towertizens will need more goods to support life as they climb farther from the ground. Careful planning and resource management are key to constructing seven monumental Miracle Towers and leading the community toward a new beginning.

The game blends post-apocalyptic survival with a surprisingly pastoral aesthetic. Each biome has its own ecosystem, shaping how resources are gathered. Jellyfish Quartz is plentiful in Mist Zones, while Manta Rays thrive in Rain Zones and provide specialised materials. This contrast between harsh disasters and idyllic scenery creates a striking world. Every section of the tower feels distinct, and Early Access adds richer decorative buildings along with the Miracle Tower system, making towers both functional and beautiful.

Stargate Games says its city-builder differs from others because it focusses on “vertical construction”. Resource management is key, and you have to “sustain life” as well as fuel “ambitious projects”.

The press release adds:

For those seeking greater depth, Early Access introduces the Ritual system, with 13 unique rituals that provide different buffs. Structural options like diagonal braces and frameworks also give more freedom in tower design, allowing creative builds that stretch both upward and outward.

Stario draws creative inspiration from many sources. Ted Chiang’s Tower of Babylon, Tsutomu Nihei’s Tower Dungeon, and the limitless treehouses of Minecraft all shaped its vision. The game also borrows from bold architectural concepts of “vertical megastructures” and “vertical cities.” This mix of literature, manga, games, and real-world ideas gives Stario its humanistic tone. It is a city builder not only about survival, but about hope and imagination.

Stario: Haven Tower is coming to PC early access on Steam on September 25th.
