Developer The Chinese Room and publisher Secret Mode has announced a paid story expansion for Still Wakes the Deep, called “Siren’s Rest”, and it’s out very soon.
And by “soon” we mean really soon, as it’s hitting all formats (PC, PS5, Xbox Series S|X) on June 18th. It’s a sequel of sorts, too.
The team explains: “Set over a decade after the events of Still Wakes the Deep, players will sink below the waves of the North Sea to explore what’s left of the Beira D. Swim through the underwater wreckage armed with a cutting torch, crowbar, and camera, and try to piece together the final moments of the oil rig’s crew. But beware – there are things lurking in the depths that even the sea cannot claim.”
The Chinese Room adds: “Siren’s Rest features a new story written by Sagar Beroshi (Helldivers 2) and introduces a new voice cast. Lois Chimimba (Doctor Who, Shetland) stars as Mhairi alongside Lorn Macdonald (Bridgerton, The Lazarus Project) and David Menkin (Final Fantasy XVI, Alan Wake 2), and the cast are once more directed by Kate Saxon.”
The story expansion will cost $12.99 / £9.99 / €12.99, and as we say, it’s out next week, on June 18th.
