Developer Cyanide Studios and publisher NACON have together released a new story trailer for Styx: Blades of Greed, just ahead of the February 19th release date.
The team says this new narrative trailer gives a little look at the story, adding: “Styx: Blades of Greed picks up shortly after the events of the second game. Having destroyed the Amber factory of High Priestess Lyssril, Styx leaves Korrangar, the city of the Dark Elves, and takes to the skies aboard a zeppelin with a makeshift crew. His new objective is Quartz, a powerful and highly unstable resource emerging as tensions rise between humans, elves, and orcs.”
Here’s some more information from the latest press release:
The adventure takes players across the continent of Iserian, through vast environments rooted in a richly detailed medieval fantasy world. Locations include the floating ruins of Akenash, once the heart of the World Tree and now overrun by goblins and elves corrupted by amber, and The Wall, the immense fortress of the Human Empire, guarded by elite soldiers and inquisitors. On the far edge of the continent lies the Turquoise Dawn, a dense jungle ravaged by the war between humans and orcs, where hostile flora and exotic creatures turn every step into a potential death trap.
Along the way, Styx is joined by a band of outcasts, including Helledryn, Djarak, and Wren. Completing their quests rewards players with upgrades that enhance Styx’s abilities, tools, and stealth skills, opening up new infiltration options and allowing for a wide range of playstyles.
This new chapter lays the groundwork for the Great War and marks the rise of the Black Hand, the mercenary group whose actions later take center stage in Of Orcs and Men, the first game set in this universe.
Styx: Blades of Greed is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) on February 19th.
