Coming in February, Styx: Blades of Greed has just received a demo on Steam that’ll let you try the opening hour of the game, and keep your progress if you purchase it afterwards.
Publisher NACON and developer Cyanide Studio have just announced this, confirming that the demo is exclusive to Steam, and will be available for a limited time. The full game, of course, is coming to PC on Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
There’s also a new pre-order trailer, which is a “Styx in 60 seconds” style video.
Regarding the demo itself, the team says: “The Styx: Blades of Greed demo begins as Styx is attacked by a massive golem. Players get to familiarize themselves with the master of shadows by controlling him before embarking on a perilous quest within The Wall, one of the game’s environments. Their mission? Locate Captain Irving, the only dwarf capable of piloting a zeppelin in the area. Players can also use Styx’s various tools and powers against the Inquisition, which is monitoring the rogue captain. In The Wall, as in all areas of the game, there is never just one way to stealth through: players can devise their own solutions to the stealth puzzles by sneaking, trapping, and assassinating enemies without leaving a trace.”
Styx: Blades of Greed is a stealth and action-adventure game developed by French studio Cyanide® and the third installment in the Styx series, which has captivated more than 2 million players worldwide. The game builds on the proven formula of its predecessors and refines it by placing freedom and creativity at the heart of the experience. Players take on the role of Styx, a cunning goblin with a razor-sharp mind and a true master of stealth. Their goal is to get their hands on Quartz, the most valuable and dangerous resource in a world on the brink of war between elves, humans, and orcs.
Players can freely explore vast vertical environments thanks to new tools such as the grappling hook and the glider, as well as new powers. They must help the master of shadows steal the Quartz while outsmarting the traps of the Inquisition. Whether discovering Styx for the first time or reuniting with a familiar goblin, greed has never felt this good!
Styx: Blades of Greed is coming to PC, Xbox, and PS5 on February 19th.
