Developer XD Games has announced Sword of Convallaria is getting a major update for its first anniversary that’ll include new characters and much more.
The turn-based strategy game with pixel art is a year old, and the developer says this update will bring “long-awaited story conclusions, exciting new game modes, beloved new characters, and a generous reward campaign for all players.”

- The Kingdom’s Fate Revealed: The anniversary update delivers the dramatic finale to the Kingdom of Iria storyline, closing a narrative arc that has captivated players for a full year. With over 120 hours of single-player content already in place, this climactic chapter adds emotional depth and payoff for long-time fans while setting the stage for what’s next in the world of Convallaria.
- Two New Game Modes to Master: Beginning July 30, players can dive into [The Pioneering Odyssey], a new dual-part challenge mode that tests strategic team-building and unlocks powerful Ascension talents. Meanwhile, [Expedition] mode invites players to form exploration squads and venture deep into the Spiral, collecting Origin Gems to exchange for rare characters and weapons.
- Introducing Inanna of Convallaria: On August 1, the spotlight shifts to Inanna of Convallaria, a brand-new banner summon featuring stunning design and formidable tactical strength. She leads the 1st Anniversary summon event alongside a guaranteed Legendary banner, allowing players to acquire unowned high-tier characters with every 10x pull. Rico joins the celebration later in the month with her own dedicated banner.
- Log In, Get Rewarded: XD Games is giving back to the community with a cascade of anniversary gifts. Players will receive up to 20 free summons just for logging in, plus daily 10-pull rewards from August 1–7, and special sign-in events yielding rare materials, Secret Fates, and exclusive items. The Annual Review feature adds a personal touch, allowing players to reflect on their journey and earn even more rewards by sharing their stats.
- Join the Celebration: Whether you’re a battle-hardened tactician or returning adventurer, now is the perfect time to re-enter Iria. The Sword of Convallaria 1st Anniversary event is live from August 1. With new characters, fresh content, and mountains of free rewards, this milestone update cements the game’s place as a modern classic in the tactical RPG landscape.
