Developer Gilligames has announced its new turn-based CRPG Shrouded Aspect is out today for PC, mixing up Celtic mythology with Baldur’s Gate and XCOM style gameplay.
The team also cites Gladius as an inspiration, and says: “This modern take on old-school RPGs invites players to lead a diverse party through a richly woven world where strategy and story go hand in hand.”
Todd Gillissie, founder of Gilligames, said: “I’ve always loved exploring open-world RPGs, but sometimes I just want to skip the talkie-talkie and get to the action. That’s what Shrouded Aspect is all about, and I’m looking forward to seeing how other action-RPG fanatics respond.”
In Shrouded Aspect, the fallen God of Death, Despater, has risen once more, spreading a devastating plague across the land. Betha, a mysterious girl with a powerful secret, may hold the key to defeating him – but she will need to travel the lands, rallying nearby townfolk and survivors to build a vanguard strong enough to discover the source of the blight and fight back against the god himself.
