It might seem like a strange name for a game, but the superb Ultimate Chicken Horse is making the jump to mobile devices later this year.
Clever Endeavour Games has slowly brought the game to multiple formats since it’s 2016 release on PC, but for a while Steam was pretty much the only place you could play it. Eventually it came to consoles, and now the mobile version (iOS and Android) is coming in “Q2” 2025.
You can pre-order the game on the Apple App Store and the Google Play store now. Oh but it’s worth noting the App Store date is a placeholder, so not the actual date it’s hitting, says the publisher.
Here’s the key features for the original PC version:
- Online, cross-platform, and local play for up to 4 players
- Unique game flow, from strategic block placement to twitch control platforming
- 21 levels with different features
- Build and share custom levels
- Compete for global best times on Challenge levels across all platforms
- Huge library of blocks to create an infinite variety of levels
- Customizable rule sets and game modes
- Shared controller mode to play multiplayer with one controller or keyboard
- Play as a chicken, horse, sheep, raccoon and other wonderful animals
- Fun, cartoony art style
- Sweet funky soundtrack
Ultimate Chicken Horse is a party platformer where you and your friends build the level as you play, placing deadly traps before trying to reach the end of the level. If you can make it but your friends can’t, you score points! Play online or locally with your animal buddies and experiment with a wide variety of platforms in all sorts of strange locations to find new ways to mess with your friends.
The mobile version is being developed with the help of Noodlecake (who also did mobile versions of art of rally and Yes, Your Grace), and the App Store page confirms the online modes will be available for the mobile versions too.
Ultimate Chicken Horse is out now for PC and consoles, and coming to iOS and Android in Q2 2025.
