Underground exploration game, Cave Crave, hits PSVR2 on July 10

Go deep, baby, deep deep down.

A brand new VR spelunking adventure developed by 3R Games (the creators of Thief Simulator VR), Cave Crave is set to arrive on PSVR2 and Meta Quest on July 10th.

Described as “the most realistic VR cave exploration experience”, Cave Crave combines the harrowing aspects of real-life cave diving: climbing and wriggling your way through tight, claustrophobic crawl spaces that make you hold your breath.

At launch, Cave Crave offers its daredevil players three game modes to satisfy their appetite for risky adventure; Horror Mode, Story Mode and Tourist Mode. Your journey through the tricky tunnels of the cave starts in Story Mode, allowing you to traverse your way through the complex passageways and overcoming various challenges you encounter. A second map for Story Mode is already in production and will be released as a free update.

Horror Mode is made perfectly for the craziest of daredevil cave divers. As an optional standalone game mode, Horror Mode takes players down into the deep, dark, unfathomable depths of the cave, where tools are your sole protection when standing face to face with the obscure and unsettling unknown.

Lastly, there is Tourist Mode. This mode is designed for those who are not a huge fan of danger, the dark and the definite risk of death. Tourist Mode allows players to take a simple tour around caves they have previously visited in the other game modes without the pressure of an objective or the danger of what could be lurking in the gloominess of the cave.

Cave Crave

Cave Crave contains numerous cave route designs, all of them being different to the last one experienced. Say goodbye to basic, boring and overused map designs and summon the courage to venture into Cave Crave’s more natural and even more terrifying cave layouts that challenge both players’ spatial awareness and their orientation.

Because of the genius technology of virtual reality, players can really get a feel for the cramped cave walls surrounding them as they navigate their way through dangerous, rocky terrain and get both virtually and literally lost in the caves. Without a map, players have no other option but to rely on faint chalk marks to set out their own path which might prove difficult when diving underwater, squeezing their body and lungs to survive.

Additional maps, story expansions and features to deepen the VR cave diving experience will arrive to Cave Crave soon – the base game being only the start.
