Guntouchables gets its first post-launch update

Little taste of heaven.
Guntouchables

Ghost Ship Publishing and developer Game Swing have announced the first content drop for Guntouchables, which is out now and free to download.

The publisher explains: “the update introduces a brand new Bunker, for preppers to explore and upgrade between waves of mutant massacre. Complete with personalisation upgrades and ranked expansions, the Bunker features new achievements to unlock, and access to a Firing Range to practice their projectile precision in peace”

The new update isn’t just about content, however, as it also has now been verified for Steam Deck, meaning you can shoot everything on the go with confidence, now.

Here’s some of the key points from the update:

  • Home is where the Artillery is: Bringing a bit of personal flair to pandemonium, Guntouchables’s latest update is all about making the end of the world feel a bit more like home. To improve all preppers’ quality of life, a Bunker is now available as a central hub, featuring both common and personal areas to customise and upgrade. Amongst these Common Area upgrades are end-times essentials which can be unlocked by levelling up, and include karaoke and vending machines, triggering different interactions. If the end of the world is feeling a little too dog-eat-dog, those who are invested in their survival can embark on a rescue mission, unlocking a secret achievement.
  • This time, it’s Personal (Quarters): While the Bunker’s Common Area reflects the host’s in-game rank, players will be able to retreat to their own Personal Quarters. Each prepper, no matter the host, will be able to customise their room to their liking, trading covetable Baxter’s Bunker Beans at Baxter’s Bazaar for luxurious home decor that ranges from bean bag beds and a crackling fireplace to “grandma” and a cactus.
  • Home, home on the firing range: Before selecting a mission and preparing for the worst, preppers are going to want to make sure they have the right arsenal for the best odds of survival. Luckily, the Bunker’s newly added Firing Range allows players to test their weaponry and ensure they’re ready for the horrors that await above.

Ghost Ship Publishing adds: “Alongside the Firing Range, players can easily access Baxter’s Bazaar and the Prepper’s Handbook from the Bunker, allowing players to purchase the right upgrade for the task ahead and check in on their achievements at a glance. Finally, preppers have a chance to prove themselves once again, with the addition of four new Challenges for the bravest of doomsday survivors to complete.”

In our review of Guntouchables, we said: “there’s something hugely cathartic about simple blasting and moving, throwing grenades and spraying fire, ice, and bullets with violent abandon. Guntouchables’ fast pace and silly humour is more than enough to keep you hooked, but until the devs patch a few things it really does require friends to get the most out of it.”

Guntouchables is out now for PC via Steam.
