Hell is Us | Warden’s Nest Guide

Hell is Us focuses on the Vigil, one of several ancient Hadean orders created to defend the world against the foretold Calamity. As Remi, you’ll need access to their knowledge and equipment if you hope to find your family and save Hadea. This means unlocking the secrets of Warden’s Nest.

This is a hidden headquarters stashed away in the Acasa Marshes and one of the first main hubs. The story will lead you there steadily, but once you’re inside, you’ll be met by the first of many tough puzzles in Hell is Us. Read on for our Warden’s Nest Guide, with step-by-step instructions how to solve the puzzles within.

Hell is Us: Warden’s Nest guide – Emblems

When you first enter you’ll notice a series of emblem slots on the walls, none of which you’re equipped to fill yet. For now, explore the area, and look for a ladder in a broken section of wall, which will lead you down into a crypt. Collect the yellow item from the sarcophagus, which will yield 4 flower emblems. Handy, only there’s a lot more than four slots for them.

In order to unlock the secrets of Warden’s Nest you’ll need to work out which of the many, many identical slots to place your emblems. Luckily, the clues are everywhere. First, you’ll notice the whiteboard, which contains answers to the first two.

It shows three symbols, and you’ll note that there are emblem slots showing these symbols on the wall as you come in. Specifically, you’re dealing with the Vigil, so place your first emblem in the slot below the Vigil symbol, which is the open book.

Also on the whiteboard is a sketch of one of the walls in the room, specifically the blue curtain that has an emblem slot either side. On the sketch, the one on the left says 1512 and the one on the right says 1513. A bit of digging around on the computer will reveal that the Order was founded in 1513, so slot the second emblem on the right of the blue curtain.

Gathering the clues

The computer also talks of four founders, Alecto, Rosa, Algea, and Dio. Algea is the fella down in the crypt. If you explore the little alcoves along the wall behind the whiteboard, you’ll find plaques you can scan that reveal these four names. Find the Algea plaque and slot the third emblem there.

As for the fourth and final emblem, the clue is in the crypt. It talks of Pentos Algea as the Warden of Grief. On the way into the Nest are symbols corresponding to all the emotional elements of Lymbic energy. Find the symbol for Grief, which corresponds to the blue energy you imbue weapons with and looks like an eye crying, and slot the fourth emblem. You’ll hear a rumble.

Now head back into the crypt to pull the lever in front of the sarcophagus. It will open, revealing the Mark of the Betrayed passive relic which, when equipped, allows you to perform powerful counterattacks after a parry, and the Blue Flower Scroll, which reveals the next step on the critical path, Lake Cynon.

When you return from the crypt, you’ll find a wheelchair-bound old Vigil called Gildas, who will provide several vital services such as rewarding you for closing Time Loops and completing Good Deeds. He can also help you decipher the Blue Flower Scroll and continue the story.
