Konami has announced a new official ambassador for eFootball, and it’s the 17-year old Barcelona star, Lamine Yamal.
What this means in real terms is that, like in the image above, you’ll see Yamal promoting the game via imagery and the like, but he’s also available in the game. He’s widely regarded as one of the brightest sparks in world football, and has lit up international tournaments for Spain as well as starred for Barcelona. As Konami says in the press release: “At just 17 years-old, Yamal has already made history as one of the most exciting young talents in football. His incredible skill, vision, and passion for the game align perfectly with eFootball’s mission to deliver an authentic and immersive football experience to players worldwide.”
A new trailer has been released showing off Yamal in the game, and featuring some interview questions with him, see that below.
There’s more, however, as Konami says: “With Yamal’s inclusion, eFootball is introducing new in-game content, including exclusive players with the brand-new “Acceleration Burst” skill, allowing for precise speed control while dribbling.”
The new available players are:
- Epic: Lamine Yamal
- Big Time: Neymar Jr.
- Epic: Takefusa Kubo
Lastly, to celebrate the announcement, the Carnival Campaign has started, which is a chance to get free coins and in-game rewards:
- Campaign Achievement: Players who log in during the event period can earn up to 500 eFootball™ coins.
- Special Login Bonus: Players who log in will receive a limited-edition carnival-themed uniform.
- Challenge Event: Completing the event will reward players with one random booster and 20,000 EXP.
Konami says: “The partnership marks another step in KONAMI’s commitment to enhancing the eFootball experience by bringing the sport’s biggest and brightest stars into the game. Fans can look forward to upcoming updates featuring Yamal and other exciting collaborations.”
eFootball is out now and free-to-play across PC and consoles.
