The standard edition for both consoles will be coming on August 29th and will cost $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99, but the “Adventure Gift Box Edition” is the one that serious fans might be eying up.
Coming on November 7th for Switch, it’ll set you back $59.99 / €59.99 / £52.99, but will include the base game and some extras. You’ll get a Deluxe Starter Kit and Crafting Bundles, as well as “a printed Critter and Fish guide, a set of exclusive collectable cards, Tophat’s Memories, and a premium double-sided poster, all packed into a specially designed Collector’s Box.”

Hello Kitty Island Adventure is a game in the vein of the likes of Animal Crossing, but more similar to Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time in that it fleshes out the systems into more checkbox style gaming, instead of letting you just do whatever you like. It started out life on mobile devices, but has since come to PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo systems.
In our review we said: “I can’t quite believe I’m saying this, but there really isn’t much to complain about when it comes to Hello Kitty Island Adventure. The platforming is a bit iffy and I’d fairly regularly get stuck in the scenery, but you’ll get popped back to a clear spot nearby when this happens. Not all of the side activities sucked me in either, but it’s not like the game forced me to partake in them.”
Lyle added: “Hello Kitty Island Adventure is one of the most surprisingly fun games I’ve played in a very long time. With cosy vibes, loads to do and a massive island to explore, I was always excited to jump back into the island and hang out with my animal buddies. You can pretend all you want that you’re too cool for Hello Kitty, but after an hour with this delightful game I’m sure you’ll keep coming back.”
Hello Kitty Island Adventure is out now on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
