Publisher Grindstone has announced that Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X later this year, and that a new update has hit PC.
On top of that, the new major content update “Svartalfheim Descent” is out now for PC via Early Access on Steam, and Epic Games Store. The team says that: “In Svartalfheim Descent players can explore never-ending stone carved halls, mineshafts, and foundries of the industrious Svartalfar.”.
This new update adds:
- A New Realm: Svartalfheim, filled with challenging environments and new enemies.
- New Gods: The legendary brothers Brokk and Sindri, Forge Masters and Rune Whisperers, who bring powerful passive bonuses through their runes.
- New Dwarven Warden Class: The last of the dwarven kind – a fortress on legs. This semi-ranged tank wields a hammer and shield, boasting heavy defense, crowd control, and a hunger for food, glory, and gold.
- New Enemies: Flyers, spitters, troll riders, and hobgoblin raiding parties now roam the mines
- New Boss: A new Jötunn monstrosity awaits in the final act.
- New Community Event: Starting May 13th all players are invited to participate in ‘Hobgoblins Everywhere’ to unlock unique weapons and a trophy (the event is optional, and helps us to test new systems and gather feedback, items from the event will return closer to the 1.0 launch)
Of course as you’d expect with an early access title, the update also includes bug fixes, and other gameplay improvements. You can find the full list of patch notes on Steam.
The console version, then, is slated for “later this year”, and will include all the content released in the early access version so far (including this latest update). The team has updated the roadmap to include the new realm (Helheim), as well as an all-new God, new class, and an “Endless mode”.
