Konami has launched a new “Nostalgia” campaign in eFootball, marking the 30th anniversary celebrations of the long-running football series.
Starting out as Winning Eleven / PES (Pro Evolution Soccer), it’s wild to think it’s been thirty years, now, having initially launched on July 21st, 1995. This new Nostalgia campaign is available across all formats, and Konami says it “invites fans to step back into the golden era of football gaming with a modern twist, featuring player models that recreate the first generation of the series.”
The publisher adds: “Starting today and through to July 10, the Nostalgia campaign offers a packed lineup of limited-time content that honors the franchise’s roots while delivering new gameplay experiences for fans both old and new.”
Here’s the highlights of the campaign:
- Time Attack Event – A race against the clock to score using classic polygon character models. Rack up rewards essential for developing current Dream Team squads while soaking in a healthy dose of nostalgia.
- Legendary Players Return – Football icons Adriano, Roberto Baggio, and Gerard Piqué return to the pitch as exclusive “Epic” cards. Available for a limited time only, these legends offer fans the chance to build a team that spans generations.
- Big Time: 30th Anniversary Chance Deals – Celebrate in style with exclusive Chance Deals that unlock rare player cards, including special 30th anniversary editions to power up your Dream Team.
- Special Log-in Bonuses – Players who log in during the campaign can claim daily rewards such as Coins, EXP, training programs, and a commemorative 30th Anniversary Badge, a token of appreciation and a nod to the legacy of the series.
As the 30th Anniversary campaign builds momentum, KONAMI will bring the celebration to life with the first-ever eFootball World Festival in Tokyo, taking place on July 21 at Belle Salle Shibuya Garden. Fans attending the event can look forward to hands-on gameplay experiences, live exhibition matches, exclusive giveaways.
Headlining the day is the eFootball Series 30th Anniversary Special Event, along with the eFootball Championship 2025 World Finals, both of which will be livestreamed worldwide in nine languages, ensuring fans across the globe can join in on the celebration.
eFootball Series 30th Anniversary Special Event
To commemorate three decades of the eFootball series, KONAMI will host a Special Event featuring major announcements, including new in-game licenses and details about ongoing 30th anniversary celebrations. The event will also include appearances from celebrity guests such as Riku Hagiwara, Jon Kabira, and more.
The eFootball Championship 2025 World Finals
The pinnacle of eFootball esports competition, the World Finals will crown the top eFootball player on the planet. A total of 32 elite competitors—16 from the console division and 16 from the mobile division—will gather in Shibuya, Tokyo, having earned their place through the open-entry eFootball Championship 2025 Open and the exclusive Club Event, where partner clubs nominate their top representatives.
Following the group stage on Sunday, July 20, the best of the best will battle it out in front of a live audience for the ultimate title: World Champion.
