11 bit studios and developer Digital Sun Games have together announced the composer for upcoming, highly anticipated title Moonlighter 2, and it’s the same person who worked on Hollow Knight: Christopher Larkin.
“Moonlighter 2’s soundtrack is adventurous – just like Will’s journey. From folk to electronic soundscapes to industrial metal, the music mirrors the unfamiliar, ever-shifting world he explores. Digital Sun encouraged me to go beyond the first game’s stylistic scope, and that freedom shaped a score full of surprises”, said Christopher Larkin.

“Working with Christopher on Moonlighter 2 has been a truly rewarding journey. Building on the legacy of his iconic Hollow Knight score, he’s composed music that breathes soul into Tresna and every dimension beyond. Striking a balance between his vision and our world took close creative collaboration – and that connection has been key to crafting an experience that feels cohesive, rich, and deeply immersive”, states Victor Ribera, a Creative Co-Director at Digital Sun Games.
Countless Hollow Knight fans already love Larkin’s work, and he now turns his talent to the vibrant world of Moonlighter 2. A successor to the indie gem from 2018, this sequel continues to combine heart-pounding dungeon crawling with the delightful rhythm of shopkeeping, now set against a refreshed musical backdrop. Larkin’s approach to Moonlighter 2 leans into warmth and whimsy, channeling a more cheerful and colorful tone that fits perfectly with the game’s lively world and its cast.
Moonlighter 2 offers adventure that is bigger, bolder, and brighter in every sense. Featuring lush 3D visuals that retain the charm of the original, new strategic inventory mechanics, expanded shop customization, and a trove of new weapons and merchant upgrades, Moonlighter 2 turns every treasure hunt into a tale worth telling.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is coming to PC early access on October 23rd.
