Maximum Entertainment has announced the second big update for co-op city builder Overthrown, and it’s called the “Nature Update”.
Developer Brimstone says that “Since its Early Access launch, Overthrown has already received a major update earlier this year, introducing exciting additions such as firebombs, powder kegs, woolies, and extended seasons”, and that this “Nature Update” is the second big one, and you can see more about it via the trailer below.
The previous update added new features like fire, mortars, and farmable livestock (Woolies), so the game is getting much bigger with every passing update. It’s a lot of fun too, and my only gripe with the Xbox version was I couldn’t invert the vertical aim, which I’m sure will be taken care of it hasn’t already.
Here’s the key features for the Nature Update:
- New Builder’s Workshop & Builders, Foragers Hut & Foragers, Weaving Mill & Weavers
- New decorative props such as scarecrows, hay feeders, and soldier posts
- A mighty new weapon: The Greathammer
- New tree species including fir trees
- Enhanced lighting
- Overhauled user interface (UI) for improved accessibility
- A new ‘bowling’ effect when tossing boulders
- Expanded buildings and citizens with unique abilities
- Introduction of Theatres and Bards
- And much more!
Play as Runa, a monarch in possession of an ancient soul-stealing crown with magical abilities. With its power, establish a kingdom in a perilous wilderness and defend it from mutants and bandits roaming the land. Build and manage alone or with friends in up to six-player co-op. Overthrown is in Steam early access on PC and Xbox Game Preview now. It’s coming later to PlayStation 5 when it hits 1.0 along with the PC and Xbox Series S|X version.
