As Phasmophobia has evolved over the years, Kinetic Games have added a whole host of new features and updates to the game. I get excited about every single one of these, because even after hundreds of hours of paranormal investigation I just can’t get enough of ghost hunting.
Earlier this year Kinetic Games revealed a roadmap of the game going all the way through 2025 and beyond, detailing all the new and exciting content we should expect in the coming months. This included everything from a new character creation system to the highly anticipated Horror 2.0 update, and a whole host of map reworks.
The first of these map reworks revealed was Bleasdale Farmhouse, which aimed to make this fairly by the numbers Phasmophobia map into something more unique. As a map that I’d consider somewhere in-between small and medium, it’s a perfect candidate to make into a more exciting map due to this unique size that works well for both solos and groups.
Daniel Knight (Dknighter), Director of Kinetic Games and Lead Developer of Phasmophobia had this to say about the new map redesign:
We’re so excited for players to jump into the huge Bleasdale Farmhouse redesign next week.The map has always been a favourite of ours, and the rework has let the team give Bleasdale a more unique identity amongst some of the other similar maps in Phasmophobia. It adds some exciting new areas and visuals that are designed to really play on ghost hunters’ senses, and we hope that everyone enjoys exploring the haunted new areas the Farmhouse offers.
When I was invited to check out this new map rework ahead of its official launch, I was excited to dust off my EMF reader and explore Bleasdale in a whole new light. What was once a fairly ordinary rural house now has the most character of any Phasmophobia map, with luxurious decor and plenty of items for ghosts to interact with. Less farmhouse and more manor house, Bleasdale is a delight to explore when the ghost lets you.
Highlights of the house include a bedroom with a mannequin that’s certain to make you jump in tense moments, an almost museum-like room full of fossils in cabinets, and a massive wall of plates with photos of different pets on (which I really hope belongs to the developers). I was quite frankly blown away by the quality of this map rework, and can’t wait for my fellow ghost hunters to join me there when it arrives on March 10, 2025, on all platforms, no less.
