Kinetic Games has announced the update for Phasmophobia that reworks the Grafton Farmhouse map is out now for PC and console players.
The developer explains that: “Ghost Hunters can expect new interactions, totally redesigned rooms, and an eerie new attic space – if they’re brave enough to enter.” And we can confirm this, as our resident Phasmophobia expert, Lyle, has been playing the reworked Grafton Farmhouse for around a week now, and he’s a big fan.
Kinectic Games adds: “Open to the public today, players are invited to gear up for a ghost hunt that they won’t want to face alone. The once-simple farmhouse has fallen victim to a harrowing event, with caved-in ceilings, busted electrics, and layers of dust coating the abandoned home.”
In his hands-on preview, Lyle said: “I was so impressed with the level of detail that the developers put into the rework of Grafton Farmhouse, and then I entered the dressing room full of mannequins and cursed them and their stupid game. There has never been a more horrific place to hunt for Spirits and Poltergeists in Phasmophobia, and when the ghost chooses it as its favourite room you’re in for a spooky time to say the least.
Walking into the kitchen area which was once made up of generic tables and plates you’ll now immediately notice wooden beams that have smashed through the ceiling and decimated the ground floor below. Cleverly placed wooden partitions mean that ghosts can hunt you from out of sight and end your night early, and a bathtub dripping a dubious red liquid will make you wish you’d never come out to solve this case.”
Last week, Kinetic Games also unveiled a new map is coming to the game, and it’s called Nell’s Diner. There will more on that soon, but there’s so much going on in the world of this game, and a film is even being made by Blumhouse.
Phasmophobia is out now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
