It’s been rumoured for a little while now, but PlayStation has officially announced the PS5 Astro Bot bundle, available from this week.
Announced via X/Twitter, PlayStation says: “Announcing the PS5 console Astro Bot Bundle, including the console itself and Astro’s biggest adventure yet. Available at select retailers globally starting this week.”
It’s important to note that this isn’t PS5 Pro bundle, but an original console with a copy of Astro Bot included. Presumably it’ll still have Astro’s Playroom installed as well, so you get a double dose of Astro Bot goodness.
Astro Bot itself is still being updated with regular levels, and we’re a third of the way through the latest run of five new levels, set inside an entire new galaxy of the game.
PlayStation has announced more hardware related goodness, as well, with a recent first look at the DualSense controller “The Last of Us Limited Edition“, version. Isabelle Tomatis V(ice President, Global Marketing, Sony Interactive Entertainment), explained: “Created in close collaboration with the creative team at Naughty Dog, this striking design features glossy trophy icons printed across the surface that call back to key moments, characters, and events from The Last of Us Part I and The Last of Us Part II.”
Naughty Dog said: “We were excited by the chance to memorialize The Last of Us franchise in a controller that fans and our own team would love. We wanted to ensure that both installments of The Last of Us are represented, via trophy icons printed in black gloss across the controller body. Among the trophies, three particular images will immediately stand out for TLOU fans: The firefly, moth, and wolf. Players will recognize the Fireflies’ iconic spray-painted logo that originated in Part I, while the moth and wolf represent the intertwining lives and duality between Ellie and Abby in Part II.”
The Last of Us Part II Remastered hits PC on April 3rd, and is out now for PS5. Astro Bot is out now for PS5.
