Ghost of Yotei release date confirmed for October

Now the release date is confirmed, everyone can officially get excited!
Ghost of Yotei

Sucker Punch Productions has today announced that Ghost of Yotei will be releasing on October 2 for PlayStation 5. The highly anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima has also received a new trailer to celebrate the news, along with details about its Collectors Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition.

Sixteen years ago in the heart of Ezo (called Hokkaido in present day), a gang of outlaws known as the Yōtei Six took everything from Atsu. They killed her family and left her for dead, pinned to a burning ginkgo tree outside her home. But Atsu survived. She learned to fight, to kill, and to hunt, and after years away she has returned to her home with a list of six names: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.

Pre-orders will be going live from May 2. With it, players will get a bunch of bonuses for simply pre-ordering Ghost of Yotei, including a unique in-game mask, and seven PSN avatars that become available straight away. The Digital Deluxe Edition will contain a digital copy of the game; The Snake’s armour set; an alternate dye for the starting armour; a unique horse colour and unique saddle dye; an in-game Charm; gold Sword Kit; and an early unlock for a map which highlights statues to help upgrade skills called Traveller’s Maps.

The Ghost of Yotei Collectors Edition is pretty impressive. As well as all the pre-order bonuses and in-game items from the Digital Deluxe Edition, players will get the following:

  • Replica display edition of Atsu’s Ghost mask
  • Replica of Atsu’s sash
  • Replica of the Tsuba from Atsu’s katana
  • A pouch of coins and instructions to play Zeni Hajiki
  • Foldable papercraft ginkgo tree with a wolf at its base
  • Four art cards

Everything is detailed on the official PlayStation blog, including story beats from the trailer and more info on the content included in all of the special editions.
