Sony has announced the next PS5 “State of Play” showcase, and it’s coming to YouTube and Twitch on February 12th at 10pm UK time.
For those not in the UK, that’s 11pm CET, 5pm Eastern Time (ET), and 2pm Pacific Time (PT), so aside being a bit late for some of us, it’s a reasonably watchable time, especially when you consider the fact Sony says it’ll be 40 minutes long.
Here’s the word, from the official blog:
State of Play is back tomorrow, February 12! Tune in live for news and updates on great games coming to PS5. The show celebrates a creative and unique selection of exciting games from studios around the world.
The 40+ minute show begins February 12 at 2pm PT / 5pm ET | 11pm CET / February 13 at 7am JST on YouTube and Twitch, and will be broadcast in English and Japanese. See you tomorrow!
Sony does have a relatively empty slate for 2025, when it comes to release dates. We know that Dungeons of Hinterberg is hitting PS5 on March 13th, after previously being on Xbox, but that’s not a first-party title, and you’d expect the State of Play to be dominated at least in part by those. AI Limit is coming to PS5 and PC in March as well, so perhaps we’ll get to see more of that.
In terms of titles we know, or at least have a heavy indication of that are coming in 2025, you’d perhaps expect to see Death Stranding 2: On the Beach make some kind of appearance. And sticking with a theme, while Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is coming to other formats, a proper showcase for that might not be off the cards.
The big hitter of course that folks will want to see more of, is likely Ghost of Yotei, which is supposedly this year, but again has no date. We’re hoping for some other surprises, too, to give us an idea of what Sony will be bringing to PlayStation 5 this year, and perhaps an idea of what PSVR2 fans have to look forward to, as well.
