Studio Fizbin has announced a rather cool collaboration for its upcoming isometric anti-authoritarianism title, Reignbreaker: rock band Djerv has written the anthem for the game.
The band is known for merging rock and metal with gaming culture, and has previously created songs for League of Legends, Arcade: Season 2, and Nikke: Goddess of Victory. Djerv has even had a nominations for “International Success of the Year” at the Norwegian Grammys. You can grab the new tune “Reignbreaker” (via pre-save) on most digital platforms, via this link. It’ll be released on March 14th.
Vocalist Agnete Kjølsrud says: “With this track, we wanted to try something new. It has a different vibe–almost like a march, something we’ve never done before. We’ve slowed down the tempo, but the energy is still intense”, adding: “It’s about channeling the power and drive needed when you’re ready to tear down the system”.
CEO Alexander Pieper (Pepe) on the game’s punk-infused aesthetic and the collaboration with Djerv: “Music has always been a big part of my identity, ever since I played in punk bands in the 2000s. When designing ‘Reignbreaker,’ we wanted it to feel like playing through an album like ‘Battle of Los Angeles’ by Rage Against the Machine– raw, rebellious, and full of energy. Punk isn’t just about identity or graffiti; music is the core. Djerv was the perfect band to create a title track that captures that spirit. When we heard their work on League of Legends and Arcane, we knew they were the right choice, and they totally nailed it!”
Developed by Studio Fizbin, Reignbreaker is a defiant response to rising authoritarianism, casting players as Clef, a child soldier turned anarchist rebel. Fighting through the gothic sprawl of a dystopian kingdom, Clef takes on legions of high-tech medieval machines, plundering the elite’s fortress and bringing the system to its knees.
With “Reignbreaker,” Djerv doubles down on their signature intensity, crafting a track that mirrors the game’s high-stakes, anti-establishment energy. Set to drop March 14, the song fuses raw metal power with unrelenting melody, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated indie game releases of the year.
Reignbreaker is coming to PC on March 18th.
