Developer Springfox Games has announced that after a successful Kickstarter campaign, and two years of development, Nif Nif is coming to Steam in April.
The team says it’s a “roguelike deck builder” and it’ll be released on April 1st for 19.99 (Euros, or US Dollars), saying: “Join Nif Nif and Cat on their adventures to save their friends from the evil Goo that is contaminating the forest. Clean up the mess through card battles to advance on the procedural maps and defeat the final bosses!”
“The idea of cleaning as a core mechanic came from a desire to create a non-violent, family-friendly game. My son’s hypersensitivity to violence influenced this decision. I chose a piglet for Nif Nif because of the positive symbolism associated with pigs in Chinese culture. The character “family” features a pig under a roof, representing harmony and togetherness.” – Masha Mallet, Game Director.

Starting today and until March 10th, Nif Nif will have a new demo available with new final bosses, unlockable card variants, new hats, a new playable character, mini-games, and by the time Steam Next Fest starts, the Nif Nif demo will offer support for 11 languages, same as for the full game: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Chinese (simplified and traditional).
Inspired by the game director’s autistic son. Nif Nif aims to provide a welcoming and supportive gaming experience where kids can explore, learn, and grow in anon-violent environment that encourages positive values like friendship and caring for nature.
Choose your cards with special abilities as you progress through the encounters to be best prepared to face the final bosses that await you at the end of the forest. Decide what to bring on each adventure to keep things fresh, and choose to play between two different characters—each with a unique card set.
Nif Nif is coming to PC via Steam on April 1st.
