Konami is great at continually bringing out exciting new Yu-Gi-Oh products, and today is no exception.
The Yu-Gi-Oh Legendary 5D’s Deck set is available now, featuring three ready to play decks inspired by the incredibly popular anime arc. There’s a Yusei deck focused on synchro summoning Junk Warrior and company, an Akiza deck full of plants, and my personal favourite Crow has got those iconic Blackwings. The set also features eight entirely new cards, and a whole host of important staple cards useful in all of your other decks.
Each Deck holds some of the most popular cards in modern Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG from Mulcharmy Meowls to Infinite Impermanence that can go in whatever Deck that Duelists play next. These Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s themed cards in each Deck also come in duplicates to enhance the playability straight out of the box.
Each Deck consists of a 40-card Main Deck and a 10-card Extra Deck with a bonus card. The 51st card is a fully playable chibi art version of the main monster of that character (“Signer”). Yusei’s Deck features a chibi Stardust Dragon, Akiza’s Deck receives a chibi Black Rose Dragon, and Crow’s Deck includes a chibi Black-Winged Dragon. Duelists will also receive 3 different Token cards showing chibi art of Yusei, Akiza, and Crow.
What’s really impressive about this particular product is quite how much effort has been put into making these decks viable against modern decks. These aren’t just fun anime decks from yesteryear, they’ve got the hand traps needed to disrupt opponents making high end plays. They are also a perfect way for older fans to try out the modern game, with semi familiar decks full of advanced strategies.
