Developer WATT Studio has announced a third-person action slasher inspired by Slavic Myth called Tsarevna, coming to PC in 2026.
The team is saying that the game combines these elements with “precise sword combat with the elegance of classical ballet, set in a dark fantasy world shaped by Slavic folklore.”
A teaser for the game has been released, but it’s going to be a long wait, with a launch aimed for PC (Steam) in 2026.
Here’s the key features from the press release:
- The first ballet-inspired slasher game, blending folklore and fine art
- Emotion-driven magic and fluid melee combat with parries, combos, and movement-based spells
- A dark fantasy world inspired by Slavic mythology and pagan legend
- Stunning motion capture animation by a professional prima ballerina
- Atmospheric storytelling across cursed villages, ruined temples, and divine realms
- Optional encounters with gods — seek their favour or challenge their rule
Players take on the role of the Tsarevna, a young warrior and heir to a fallen dynasty. Armed with a magical blade forged from emotion itself, she battles through hordes of creatures drawn from myth — wraiths, mermaids, forest spirits — as she seeks vengeance and truth in a world scarred by a long-forgotten cataclysm.
Combat is a Dance
Tsarevna’s core combat system is built around choreographed motion captured from world-renowned ballerina Alyona Kovalyova, principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet. Every spin, leap, and strike flows with balletic precision — turning every fight into a deadly performance.
A Story Forged from Ashes
Set in the aftermath of a dark and fractured era, Tsarevna leads players on a journey through enchanted and forsaken realms — from the depths of the Underworld to the skybound lands of Iriy. Along the way, players will confront ancient deities, unlock the Tsarevna’s forgotten past, and uncover the cost of wielding power rooted in grief and beauty.
Tsarevna is coming to PC in 2026.
