Lioncode Games has announced an early access release date for creature collecting action roguelike, Wildkeepers Rising, along with a Steam Next Fest demo.
First up, then, the release date: the early access launch is coming on March 31st, 2025. The team says that “Wildkeepers combines the frenetic horde battles and addictive power-curve of a bullet heaven with the compulsive fun of a creature collector”, adding you can check out the demo via Steam, right now, as part of Steam Next Fest.
Here’s some of the key features from the latest press release:
- Bullet Heaven: Shred thousands of enemies by creating synergies with different tameable Guardians
- Hand-Drawn Art: Inspired by the works of Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball), Jim Henson (The Dark Crystal), and Hayao Miyazaki (Studio Ghibli)
- Creature Collector: Discover, tame, and train magical beasts, and trigger their devastating special attacks in battle!
- Roguelite Progression: Unlock and acquire upgrades in your village between runs
- RPG Elements: Discover a rich world of fantasy heroes and magical monsters and a tale of vengeance
Wildkeepers Rising is an action roguelite blending the power curve of a bullet heaven with the compulsive fun of a creature collector. Tame outlandish Guardians and savage dastardly hordes of monsters infesting the land. With art inspired by classic fantasy and anime, this hand-drawn indie offers a satisfying game loop with varied maps and modes to explore!
With each run, build a team of Guardians with synergies and devastating special attacks. The legacy of the Wildkeepers is at risk as their magic wanes and monsters pour across the land—complete quests across different maps, catching Guardians as you go, and discover the source of this invasion.
Wildkeepers Rising is coming to PC early access via Steam on March 31st.
