Kinetic Games along with Remedy Entertainment have launched something they’re calling “Phasmophobia by Alan Wake”, a limited-time event within Phasmophobia.
The event has started today, but runs until June 2nd on all platforms Phasmophobia is available on. Basically, you’ll be able to play as Alan Wake or Saga Anderson (from Alan Wake 2) to “identify paranormal spirits, complete community challenges, and play in iconic maps reimagined for the Dark Place”.
The team says this is the first of its kind for the game, and that “four of the game’s maps have been reimagined including Nell’s Diner, the Grafton and Bleasdale Farmhouses, and Camp Woodwind”. Kinetic Games adds: “As players explore, they’ll be challenged to search for pages of Alan’s writing – written for Phasmophobia by Remedy Entertainment Creative Director, Sam Lake.”
Check out a trailer showing the crossover in action, below:
“It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with such an iconic title for our first collaboration,” said Daniel Knight, CEO and Game Director at Kinetic Games. “We’re big fans of the Alan Wake franchise, and knew it would fit perfectly with Phasmophobia. We can’t wait for our ghost hunters to jump in today and experience a small piece of the Dark Place in our game, and we can’t thank Remedy Entertainment enough for allowing us to create one of the most exciting in-game events for Phasmophobia yet.”
“It’s an honour and joy for us to collaborate with the Phasmophobia team in this event. Our two franchises complement each other perfectly. A word of caution to all the potential ghost hunters out there, if you choose to enter, you might never be able to leave the Dark Place. You have been warned.” Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment
In other news, Phasmophobia is being made into a movie by Blumhouse.
Phasmophobia is out now on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
