Remedy Entertainment has announced that Control: Ultimate Edition is out now for Mac devices, via the Apple Mac Store, marking the game’s debut on the format.
The developer says that “the award-winning video game deliverers a visually stunning gaming experience with support for hardware-accelerated ray tracing on Macs with the latest M4 family of chips”. Remedy also reminds us that it was originally released in 2019, and won over 80 awards, which is fair enough since it’s an absolutely fantastic game, full stop, with some of the best “moments” in recent years.
The ultimate edition includes the original base game (Control, obviously), but also The Foundation DLC, and the AWE expansion, which was the DLC that tied the Control universe properly into the Alan Wake world. Remedy says: “Native on Apple silicon Macs, Control delivers great performance, smooth and immersive gameplay, with support for software technologies in macOS like HDR and MetalFX Upscaling. On Macs with the M3 or M4 family of chips, Control supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing, so visuals look even more stunning.”
