Two new Rayman games announced, Origins and Legends are back

A remake and a re-release.

Ubisoft has announced not one, but two new Rayman games, one a redux, and the other a ground-up remake of Rayman Legends.

You may be aware of Rayman Legends Retold, which was announced officially during the massive June 2026 Sony State of Play on Tuesday night, you may not be aware that Origins is also getting a re-release. So let’s start there, then.

Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition is coming on October 1st, and I’ll assume you know it is a gorgeous platformer. It’s still got offline co-op, but it’s been retouched for the re-release.

Enjoy Rayman Origins like never before with 4K resolution, 60 FPS, and modern enhancements, including new quality-of-life features. Discover 60 hidden Relics across the adventure and track your progress in the Snoring Tree.

Depending on where you’re sitting, the potentially more exciting thing is that Legends is getting a full remake. Also coming on October 1st, Rayman Legends Retold is a “bold 3D reimagining of the beloved platformer”, explains Brittany Spurlin (Writer for Ubisoft), “bringing new content and narrative twists.”

“Rayman Legends Retold is our way of revisiting what makes Rayman so special, and re-telling that experience for a new generation of players. We wanted to preserve everything fans love, and Legends gave us the perfect foundation to expand Rayman’s lore, its world logic, and how everything connects together.” said Loïc Gounon, Brand Producer.

Rayman Legends Retold features stunning 3D visuals, breaking up the 2D perception by bending the playground, tilting the camera, and dynamizing in-game cutscenes, improving player immersion.

The game also has an expanded soundtrack by Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope, as well as voiced cinematics, bringing the journey to life in new and exciting ways. Plus, for the first time in franchise history, the characters are fully voiced, giving them a new dimension. The game also has new and improved gameplay, with a rich selection of returning levels, a mysterious new realm, and four new musical stages in which every move must sync with the beat of the soundtrack. You can also push your skills to the limit in the Cave of Trials, which offers ongoing free challenges.

“With Rayman Legends Retold, we want to deepen immersion by fully taking advantage of the PS5’s capabilities, using our Snowdrop engine to deliver a more expressive Rayman experience.” said Guillaume Cerda, Brand Director.

“This fresh 3D approach serves as a bridge between the visual richness and dramatization of Rayman 2 and 3, and the efficiency and clarity of the side-scrolling gameplay of Rayman Legends.” said Guillame Arvieu, Brand Art Director.

Both Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition and Rayman Legends Retold are coming to PC and consoles on October 1st.
