Everything shown in the June 2026 State of Play

More games than you can shake a stick at!

Well, Summer Showcase season is in full swing, and tonight we were graced with a new State of Play from Sony, packed with games coming to the PS5.

If you’ve not had a chance to watch the full show then I’ve got you covered, and below you’ll find the full list of everything that featured.

Bear with me, I’m attempting to write this up as the show is taking place and I’m running on a toddlers sleep schedule at the moment so if there are any minor mistakes then I apologise in advance. Hopefully the next State of Play will be at a more suitable time for us Brits!

Without further ado…

Marvel’s Wolverine

First up was Marvel’s Wolverine, where Marcus Smith, the Creative Director, took us through the game in more detail than we’ve seen before.

The game looked glorious, as Wolvie in his classic yellow suit leaps off a building and slashes through goons, drenching himself in their blood proving that this is the M-rated Wolverine game we’ve all wanted for a long, long time now. While he lacks the agility of Insomniac’s Spider-man, he’s still perfectly capable of scaling buildings and parkouring his way to vantage points.

He’s not alone either: a rather brooding Jean Grey shows up to join the fight and the pair take down a whole host of cybernetically enhanced grunts together. Blood sprays, limbs fly and Logan goes full berserker. He really is the best at what he does.

We also see his healing factor in play, an exciting set piece involving a motorbike and a montage that hints at some other iconic enemies too.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

Continuing the superhero theme we had Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, with a rather lovely anime-style cutscene that led into introductions for new characters:

  • Doctor Doom
  • Iron Man
  • Green Goblin
  • Carnage

Together they form the Knights of Doom, a collection of evil doers who are taking the fight to the heroes in Marvel Tokon. One team is left to assemble, any guesses who?

Rayman Legends: Retold

Next we had a true gaming icon make an appearance: Rayman. In a genuinely gorgeous trailer we saw the French legend along with his friends tackling a mix of challenges together, including new content not featured in the original release.

Bancho the Chef

  • No release date

What looked like Dave the Diver showed up next, but not in a way you’d expect. Instead of focusing on the man himself we’re getting a “slow-cooked prequel about the making of a master” and it’s titled Bancho the Chef.

With a fresh artstyle, a litany of minigames and a funky soundtrack it looked like a lot of fun.

Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen

  • Releasing: 2027

Next up we got the very stylish Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen, where you play as a Yokai hunter in what looked like a post-apocalyptic city. You can “wear the paranormal”, turning demons into trendy street fashion that unlocks new abilities, and with 3 player co-op it looks like a great excuse for a bit of fashionsouls style gaming.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

We then got a look at Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis which is looking lovely, with Lara performing suitably over-the-top flips to dodge enemies and traps alike. There are some truly jaw-dropping locales on show, plenty of jumping and swinging and even a few dinos for good measure. As far as remakes go this looks like one of the more ambitious ones.

Unfortunately we have a little longer to wait, with the game delayed until February 12 2027.

The Lost Wild

  • Releasing: 2027

Annapurna made an appearance next, continuing the dinosaur theme from the previous trailer. The Lost Wild is a first person adventure with dinosaurs running amok around what appears to be modern day North America.

The trailer didn’t give too much away but it looked great!

Phantom Blade 0

We took a break from dinosaurs with the next trailer as we got a very brief new look at Phantom Blade 0, teasing a deeper dive later in late summer2026 on gameplay and story.

Dune: Awakening

Dune: Awakening was next, showing the vast open world and everything you can do in it. A brand new single-player mode is arriving with the PS5 release for those that love Dune but hate socialising with people.

Don’t forget to check out our full Dune: Awakening review to find out Mick’s thoughts on the base game.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered brings 1 vs.1000 battles to the PS5, letting a whole new generation of gamers experience one of the most memorable games in the series.

No Rest for the Wicked

No Rest for the Wicked is making its PS5 debut with the full 1.0 release. It features a massive world, huge progression system and new endgame content with cross save, cross play and co-op. What else could you ask for?!

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Onimusha: Way of the Sword got a new trailer showing the brutal combat and some glimpses at the story and characters.

For those that just can’t wait, a demo is available right now from the Playstation store too!

Silent Hill Townfall

Time for something a bit more…horrifying. A foggy town, faceless monsters and a general feeling of unease, it can only mean one thing – it’s Silent Hill!

As a horror fan who also hates being scared, this looked right up my street at times, as you’re wandering around investigating the spooky setting. As soon as the world turns red and the monsters arrive I noped out though. It looks like there’ll be plenty of sneaking past enemies or hiding in lockers to evade them, rather than battering them with pipes, and my little heart just can’t take that.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve

Bandai Namco were up next with the newest entry in their flight combat game – Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve.

Now, I’ve not played one of these before, but there seemed to be an awfully large emphasis on story here, and it actually looked quite good. Maybe it’s time I try the series?

If you pre-order a physical copy then you’ll also get a free copy of Ace Combat 0: The Belkan War, originally released in 2006.

Stuntman: Hollywood

  • Coming soon

A complete left-field one here: Saber showed up with Stuntman: Hollywood, the latest in the long-running series. This one features vehicles from iconic media franchises, including Nightrider, Mad Max, Back to the Future and more. Fingers crossed the Batmobile is in there too.

ILL

  • Releasing: 2027

Mundfish and Team Clout gave us a look at ILL next, a gory first-person horror game. The trailer took us through a hospital full of horrible infected beasties and teased the story that ties it all together. Some genuinely horrific enemies on show here, so not one for the faint of heart.

Control: Resonant

Remedyverse fans will be happy with this next trailer as we got a new look at Control: Resonant. Set in a much larger and more open world than The Oldest House, there’s plenty of FBC mysteries to uncover as Jesse’s brother Dylan.

Marathon: Nightfall Update

  • Releasing: June 2 (today!)

Recently released Marathon got a dark new trailer for a whole host of new stuff coming in the season 2 Nightfall update arriving today, June 2. New maps, weapons, and more are all on offer, along with a free trial to celebrate.

PS+ updates

A whistlestop tour here of some upcoming games arriving on PS+ in the next few months:

  • Runescape Dragonwilds – Arrives day one on PS+ later this year.
  • Gitaroo Man – June (Classics Catalogue)
  • Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy – July (Classics Catalogue)
  • Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams – August (Classics Catalogue)

Until Dawn 2

  • Releasing: 2027

Firesprite were next, showing an island getaway of a trailer, featuring some dumb American kids filming a documentary about an abandoned facility on a tropical island. It looked idyllic although the creepy music in the background suggested it wasn’t going to end well.

Surprise surprise it ends with some of them getting eviscerated! When a familiar face showed up it was obvious we were looking at Until Dawn 2, which I was incredibly happy about.

God of War Laufey

Our final game of the night got 20 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay, so you knew it was going to be something special, and it was as Santa Monica Studios gave us our first look at God of War Laufey. No release date information, but an extended look at gameplay so grab some popcorn and enjoy!

That was everything! What were your highlights of the show?
