Revenge of the Savage Planet | Stellaris Prime Capture Guide

Round up all the alien life in the first world.
Revenge of the Savage Planet | Stellaris Prime Capture Guide

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a sequel bursting with things to do, secrets to uncover, and stuff to collect. One of the more enjoyable pursuits is capturing and researching all 36 species of alien life across its four core worlds. Some are super easy, but some are a little trickier – but you need them all if you want to unlock every upgrade and cosmetic option. Handily, we’ve got them all, so we’ve broken them down into a handy set of guides to help you find and nab them – starting with all the creatures available on the first world, Stellaris Prime.

While most of these creatures in Revenge of the Savage Planet can be captured easily enough, you’ll want to scan them all first. If they’re aggressive, scanning them will expose their weak spot, allowing you to stun them. To capture a creature, you need to lasso it with the Proton Whip and pull it towards you, so the closer you can get the better.

BRAINARD: The Brainard is a cute little mushroom creature that actually took me a while to find – because it’s the first alien lifeform you come across and I had no idea what it was. It’s also surprisingly rare, found only in a couple of locations on Stellaris Prime. Capturing it is pretty easy though: just lasso it and pull it in as it’s not hostile.

SLITHERFLY: Flying enemies in Revenge of the Savage Planet can be a pain. They’re fast, usually attack in number, and have a tendency to pop up when you’re already in the middle of something. Slitherflies are no exception, and you’ll encounter them everywhere on Stellaris Prime. If you want to catch one, you’ll first need to stun it, so you need to hit them with as sustained jet from the water hose first.

RACCOCCO: The Raccocco is a docile balloon-shaped raccoon-like creature that move around in groups. They’re easy to kill, fun to kick around, and remain adorable even after you splatter them against the scenery and their huge eyes roll around in the goo. Sounds gross, but trust me: it’s cute. Either way they’re easy to capture too, but they will defend one another and disturb you, so get them on their own first.

BEETLE: I can’t help but feel like they forgot to name this creature, but either way it’s an aggressive little sod. It will constantly charge you and attempt to crush you by flipping itself over. You’ll need to stun it if you want to catch it, which means shooting its weekspot, which is on the top of its back. Shoot it, stun it, and reel it in.

FECAL BEETLE: The tougher cousin of the standard Beetle, this one is protected by a shell made of poop. You’ll often find them wandering around with the other kind, and they’re equally as hostile. To stun one, you’ll need to use your whip and break the shell off its back. The weak spot is then found in the same place as the other beetle.

TRICKLE: These little monsters are absolutely nuts. They’re little balls of angry fur disgorged from pulsating, tubular nests and will immediately go on the defensive, doing a surprising amount of damage and knocking you around. They’re easily captured once isolated, but don’t try to lasso one with others around.

MITO SLIME: These green jelly-like slimes are very aggressive and hard to kill. Shooting them will cause them to break apart and spawn more slimes, and they’ll follow you swiftly, spitting slippery goo at you. They burn easily, or you can spray them with the water hose to explode them. To capture one, you’ll need to break them into small pieces and lasso one of the smaller ones.

ALPHA RACCOCCO: The slightly more aggressive cousin of the Raccocco, the Alpha has a distinctive crest and will explode when killed. It’s not necessarily harder to capture, but it will come at you with murderous intent if you mess with any Raccoccos near it.

HOGNORK: This giant alligator-hog hybrid is the toughest creature to capture on Stellaris Prime, but you’ll need to grab it to advance the story, as researching it unlocks an upgrade for your Proton Whip. It’ll charge you and knock you flying if it hits you, so you’ll need to scan it and look for its weak spot. If you can stun it, capturing it is easy enough. Bear in mind you’ll also be attacked by Slitherflies as the fight starts.
